Anti aging skin care products

Most anti aging skin care promise to smooth lines, prevent sagging, remove age and sun spots and to rejuvenate the skin. However there is little evidence that these products can actually make a difference. These products are predominantly made up of moisturizers. The difference that they do make to the skin is not noticeable to the human eye though some difference.

Steer clear of expensively packaged products with slick advertising. Instead look carefully at the ingredients. Pick a product that is suitable for your skin type and also look for the following ingredients in anti aging creams that could perhaps make a difference to the skin:

  • Retinol
  • Sun block
  • Vitamin C
  • AHAs or Alpha Hydroxy Acids
  • Coenzyme Q12
  • Epidermal growth factor
  • Peptides and Copper Peptides

Sun block

The elements such as the sun and wind that are responsible for most of the damage to the skin. Protecting the skin from the elements is important to try and preserve its youthfulness and natural moisture. Use a good quality sun block to protect the facial skin from sun damage. Also protect the facial skin from direct exposure to very extreme temperatures.

Exfoliation and massage

You could use a face scrub regularly – it helps to give a smoother feel to the skin because they remove some of the surface dead cells. Chemical peels also remove the outermost layer of the skin to reveal fresher skin beneath and they may produce results that are more immediately noticeable. Many women claim that massaging the facial skin helps to improve the look and the feel of the face; that it boosts blood circulation and helps to rejuvenate the skin of the face.

Other anti aging regimens such as Botox and facelifts can be expensive, invasive and risky. Botox is injected into the skin to paralyze the facial muscles whereas plastic surgery carries its own dangers and the risk of something going wrong or of unnatural looking results.
